My neighbor lady is worried. She's in her late 50's and has had a hystorectomy back in 75.

She isn't sexually active, but she's been haveing this bad vaginal discharge. She say's it's not itching, or smelly. She say's it's whitish/yellow, and she's having to douche 2 or more times a day.

Do any of you have any idea what it may be? I explained to her about yeast, but she's pretty sure it's not yeast.

So anyone know??

honestly douching is probably making it worse
tell her to stop douching fist and formost
my doctor explained it to me this way
"down there" is like a self cleaning oven
our bodies make a bacteria to clean and fight any bad bacterias that cause yeast infections and all of that
discharge is actually quite normal
as most of us know
i would tell her for a week dont wash it with soap first
all you need to clean down there is a washcloth and warm water
no soap
or "intamate cleanser"
all of those things are no good
nothing
no powder or anyhting
and even though shes discharging alot dont use a pad or pantyliner, it only holds the moisture and bad bacterias in there
tell her not to do anything to it...just go to the bathroom and wipe it if it gets too excessive
and it will probably be uncomfortable, but thats the best thing to do
and if it doesnt clear up in a week, tell her to see a doc it could be bacterial vaginitis...which is no big deal
gross but not serious,
just stress the importance of not using anythng down there
not even fds
hope that helps...sorry its so long

Tell her to stop douching. It is bad for you. If there is anyone who hasn't started, don't. All OBGYN's will tell you if interferes with your body's natural way of fighting bacteria. Like taking to much antibiotics. The best thing she could probably do is nothing for a day or two to see if it gets any better. Let her natural "good bacterias" build back up so they can fight. And, get some yogurt, Yea, it's nasty but better than hurting!

If you had a hystorectomy there is nothing there to cause a discharge unless it is from some other organ. That seems serious - tell her to see a dr.
