Go to the court house and explain it to them. They probably have a bench warrant out on you for failure to appear. If you make a new trial date they probably won't arrest you but you'll get fined for not showing up the first time. If your license is suspended you have to apply to get it back. They don't just say.."Ok you can drive now". Also... you shouldn't be driving and talking on the phone at the same time. There are laws against that in some places. What's so important that you have to talk on the phone while you're driving? What did you do before there were cell phones, stay at home all day so you could be next to the phone?

The failure to appear will result in a "default judgement" of guilty for the violation. The judge will put a warrant out for your arrest and if caught you will be brought to jail. However you may not sit in jail until your court date normally they will set a bail and allow you to get out (usually consist of cps, signature, personal surety, or code 6 -there are others but wouldnt apply to you) then the process will start over if you miss the next court date. Whatever the case call your local Da's office and allow them to assist you, they may allow you to pay the ticket and you will not have a warrant. If you are 17 or older you can be taken to jail...

After a suspension, depending on the state, you usually have to go through the same process as getting a new license.
I don't know of any state that it is automatic.
You have to go apply for the license, take the test, drive, etc.
If you missed your court date, you better be calling the court and rescheduling. A warrant has been issued, that is automatic.

No doubt a judge has issued a bench warrant for your arrest. Best to contact the clerk of the municipal court to find out then contact an attorney (sorry) but warrants are too serious to screw around.

first you need to call the court and police and tell them that you missed your date.
a warrant has already been issued for your arrest.
calling the police station and explaining yourself and possibly going in there (probaly to be arrested) will go a long way in clearing your problem up. they may simply issue you a new date, or give you a fine.

call your state dmv. they will advise you. chances are you have an administrative warrant for your arrest outstanding. force the warrant on your terms, not there terms. they mean you no harm but they do have a job to do. and if you're on your way home from the grocery with a buch of stuff it will spoil if they decide to arrest you.
call dmv immediately and ask them what to do.
