Will the media blame them for the increase like they did the Repubs? Likewise, will the media credit the Dems for a renewed economy and employment gains that have been occuring for the last 18 months, much as they blamed the Repubs for the decline inherited from the mid-late 90's?

Democrats will not get blamed for the increase because the media thinks that the democrats don't do anything that is nearly as bad as something the republicans have done. Even though the republicans have not done anything that terrible. They will probably get the credit for a renewed economy and employment gains even though things were improving before they took over the senate and the house. The democrats have had several good news stories while the republicans have only had a few....and that is a fact.

They will probably get blamed for it but as everyone knows the big oil companies have profited more from the administration than anyone they most likely were holding the price down in the hopes that the golden goose would still be able to lay eggs for them and after the election no matter who won it was going up again, i do not know if the dems will get credit for a booming economy but most likely.

Actually, gas prices in my neighborhood here in southeast Texas have remained stable for several weeks, but I fully expect them to start rising soon just as I expect the media to shuffle the credit around as you indicated. The Dems are already leading that parade. I just hope that I've been wrong about the Democrats and that they can actually get some positive things done ... but with their history I'm not holding my breath. So far all they've done is congratulate one another over their long-awaited return to power. Their collective circle-jerk is nauseating! Time will tell..

Gas prices always go down during election time. And then they slowly rise up. To make us think that the 'good times' right now are because of a certain party! Those losers! They just can't present the American public with hard core facts now can they?

What I noticed is that gas prices went down prior to the election and now they are going up after. Surprisiingly gas prices going down would look good for a party headed by oil company executives, when it didn't work, they can now raise their prices again and continue gouging the American public.

Yeah and isn't it funny that they dove right before the election. "Fat cat Corporations For Continued Inept GOP Rule" just jerking the American people around. Get used to it.

While they are at it they will finally manage to put the war in a good light so Demos can take credit.

I guess the answer to this is in the eye(or ear) of the beholder. Just depends on how you want to spin something.
