What are some survival tips for a WW1 survival guide?

its for a history project and we need som ideas please... they can be "corny" anything is awesome t this point. thnk you

1. avoid getting shot
2. avoid getting captured
3. don't breath in toxic gases like mutsard gas
4. change your socks often

1. Your gas mask is your best friend!
2. Keep your head DOWN (avoid getting it blown off above the trenches)!
3. Change your socks twice daily (avoid rot from the water that built up in the trenches).
4. Watch out for barbed wire.
5. Maybe a recipe for hot canteen soup, or how to spit a wild hare on the end of your bayonet?
