We will be in Las Vegas from December 5th until the 19th. We go out 2 or 3 times a year for two weeks at a time and have for the past 20 years..We love December because it's a lot slower in LV then and the rooms are a steal..
You might run into 70+ degree weather during the day and if it's nice and sunny, running around for a while in a pair of shorts is pretty nice..Okay, here's the official averages for December in LV, average high 58 degrees, average low 33 degrees...What I do is take clothes so that I can layer, t-shirts, light/heavy shirt, sweatshirt, light jacket, heavy jacket. I have seen it in the 80's on rare occasion and one night I was walking the strip the temp was in the high teens, it was snowing lightly and the wind was blowing about 40 MPH, yes, it was very cold...If you're into pools, some hotel/casinos have a heated pool..
This would be my list of "must see" things to do in LV
1-Caesars Palace-The Forum Shops/animatronic shows
2-Bellagio-Fountains
3-Fremont Street Experience
4-Stratosphere Tower
5-Masquerade Show in the Sky-Rio

Don't have to gamble to have fun in Las Vegas.
Bellagio - indoor area near the buffet. Has lots of Xmas decoration. Should take you about 2 hrs to view.
Paris Las Vegas Hotel Casino - Take an elevator to he observation deck of the Eiffel Tower replica.
Venetian - Relax on the gondola ride down a 1200 ft indoor canal.
Wynn's - try the late lunch buffet and hang out until dinner.
