We just use it, rather than silence, as a filler. It's annoying, but not nearly as annoying as "like." I personally say both when I'm nervous or struggling to convey something.

Theres no way everyone could know everything coz there are soo many questions that dont have answer...Humans do not know alot compared to what could be out there. but we are discovering and learning things ever day...so we know alotm ore then we did just say 20 years ago

it can be like a way of agreeing or checkin to see if sum1 knows or not .. ya know .... lol
