If I measure the length of my arms spread out from both middle fingertips. Is That my exact height and is this a precise measurement?

I don't think your armspan is equal to your height...might be close, but measuring from head to toe would be the most precise. It's not that hard to measure either way.

If you have an identical twin, measure her, instead. Or, you could measure your shadow, and the shadow of an upright stick, and use the ratio of the shadow lengths and the length of the stick to work out your height.

I believe that it is. It's the way that people are measured for height in the military and in sports. Also, your foot is the same length as your forearm from your elbow to your wrist.

I was told the same thing as a kid.I remember trying it and it seemed pretty accurate...but I still use the good old fashioned head to toe method still.I trust it more=)

Your arm spread should equal your height.

Try this:

the distance from the elbow to the tip of the hand is one-fifth of person 's height.

Does this work as well?
