Yes, you can bring pets with you to Walt Disney World. There are numerous kennels on property, but, of course, they may not stay with you at your Resort and they're not allowed into the Parks, unless it's a service dog. On the other hand, if you're staying at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, some spots are designated for families with pets.

Here, this is directly from the Walt Disney World website...

"With the exception of service dogs for Guests with disabilities, pets are not permitted in the Theme Parks or hotels, or on the Resort or Theme Park buses. They may, however, stay in one of the air-conditioned kennels, which are members of the American Boarding Kennel Association.
Pet Care Kennels are located adjacent to the Park entrances at Epcot®, Disney-MGM Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park. At the Magic Kingdom® Park the Pet Care Kennels are located adjacent to the Transportation and Ticket Center

Kennel fees are per animal, per night. Guests are required to walk and exercise their pets 2-3 times daily.

Resort reservations do not guarantee a kennel space for your pets; availability is first come, first served. No native wildlife or exotic species are allowed in the kennels. Prior to boarding, all Guests are required to show records of vaccination (for dogs: Rabies, Parvovirus, D.H.P. and Bordetella; for cats: Rabies, Panleukopenia, Rhinotracheitus and Calcivirus)."

This website is really helpful for planning a Walt Disney World vacation (AllEarsNet,) and this specific page has a lot of information about bringing pets and the kennels. It lists the kennel sizes available as well as prices. At the top of the page there's a link for "Reader Reports" where there's a great review from someone who's used the kennels a few times, and at the bottom of the page there's a link for photos of the kennels, that way you can see if it's a place you'd like your new dog to stay...

Hope I could help!
Good luck with the new addition this Christmas! : )

* To the person below who said, "it would be less traumatic for the dog to be boarded near home and not to travel," that's not true at all. First of all, a dog needs to learn to travel because they're going to at some point whether the family moves or they're simply being taken to the vet. He'll be young when they go, so it'll be a good experience for the dog that will pave the way and get him used to it. Second, it would actually be more traumatic for the dog if it were left without the family. It's young and is not going to understand what's going on when the family's missing for a week and they're at some random kennel near home. At least at Walt Disney World the owners have to walk the dog, so the dog will be able to see the family everyday, rather than wimpering in a cage all day being taken care of by strangers while they're away. And if they bring the dog to the kennels at Walt Disney World they'll be able to see just how well the dog's being taken care of.

There are many pet friendly accommodations in and around Disney but you will have to be careful with staff coming in and out of your room and perhaps someone complaining if the dog is barking. I always recommend the Westin hotels if you are bringing a pet. They have great accommodations not only for you but your dog and they are treated very well. You may want to check out the Westin Grand Bohemian in Orlando. You also have another choice and that is the Bass Pet Motel. It is located about 15 mins from Disney near the Give Kids the World center. This is where our pets stay when we go on vacation and they love it. So while you are having fun at the parks, your dog is having his/her own vacation.

Disney has Kennels and pet daycare available. They're near the Transportation and Ticket Center at the Magic Kingdom. At Epcot, they're to the left of the entrance plaza. At Disney MGM Studios, they're left of the entrance plaza. At Animal Kingdom, they're at the outer entrance. No advance reservations are accepted. The kennels are staffed 24 hours, however, they open 1 hour before and close 1 hour after the park. Disney resort guests save a few dollars on overnight fees. Be aware the kennels aren't set up for multi-day boarding. You must exercise your pet yourself. Also, you may be able to convince the kennel to take an exotic pet like an iguana, if you bring your own food. But, they will never take "wildlife" pets like raccoons.

Bring proof of all shots. Remember it's against the law in FL to leave a pet in a closed vehicle

I have done it both ways. If you can kennel or dog sit at home, it will save you time and hassle...if you are just going to the parks. Kaitlyn answered....great policy review. If you are doing other drive trip activities, then you may want you pet with you. So, kennel there at Disney. If you have RV, and stay at Fort Wilderness the pet can stay in the RV.

Thats the great thing about Disneyworld. They have a kennel at every park where you can board your other member of the family. Unfortunately, you can't have them with you in the parks (unless they are sight dogs), or in your room at a Disney Resort. For more info, visit:

i think it would be better for you to board the dog at home, or find a pet sitter. if you board at disney you have to leave what you are doing in the park twice a day to walk all the way to the front of the park and walk ypur dog. when you are at magic kingdom that could take you 45 minutes or more just to catch the monorail to go walk the dog. easier to leave him at home

it would be less traumatic for the dog to be boarded near home and not to travel. then you can board them at the same place everytime. take dog toys and a blanket with your mom's scent on it so the dog won't feel so alone.
