If he was older l would say that he's going through a mid life crisis, but l get the impression from what you have said that you two are quite young. He certainly sounds like he is very confused or very immature. Maybe he just needs some time out, then again it sounds like he might want permanent time out. What does you getting a job have to do with anything ? Are you going through some kind of financial hardship or is it just that he thinks you are not pulling your weight ? Be more responsible and ask him what the hell his problem is. If he can't tell you honestly what is up with him, then l guess it's up to you. How do you feel about the relationship ? Is it worth trying to sort things out with him ? It's your call. You tell him how you feel and work it out from there. Good Luck hope it all works out well for you both.

I'm sorry things like this happen to people. He's not ready or has someone else.

This sounds like my first marriage. I thought we were good together but in reality it was all one sided. You can't MAKE a person love you.
He had a girlfriend but couldn't be man enough to admit it.
We went our separate ways for awhile and then he wanted to get back together. It was too late. I don't regret it. Just made me take responsibility for my life and happiness.

Take a good long look at what is going on here. Can you be happy if he only cares about himself?

sounds as if he isn't truly ready for marriage, or the responsibility of being the sole supporter of someone else, sounds as if he wants a different kind of relationship, on where u show responsibility, and show him your the right choice in life. he wants to see changes, at this point he doesn't see a future with u, perhaps u are too needy, and he feels if u haven't finished school than if he marries u he will have to support u. we pick our mates, or should, by trust, being able to rely on that person, and what their past says about them. he isn't ready to have kid's or be a husband right now.

Who knows why the jerk changed his mind. What kind of man makes a committment to a woman who he supposedly loves, then says he's "not going to care about anyone but himself from now on"? I'll tell you what kind...the kind you don't want to be with!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, the guy sounds like a narcisstic idiot with no compassion or feeling for anyone but himself and you're better off without him. And to top it off, he places an ultimatum on you?!?!?! Go back to school and show more responsibility and then maybe he'll get back together with you?!?!?!?! No no no. This man loves no one but himself and eventhough it's going to hurt like heck for awhile, stay away from him. You'll meet a wonderful man who will love you for you. Trust me :)

How old is he? It sounds like a mid-life crisis. It is possible to save your marriage, but you have to be prepared for things to get a little worse (yeah I know it's tough now) but then things could get better. You have to be strong and ride it out if you think it's worth it. THere are lots of books and informational sites out there. Good luck

Sounds to me as if he has cold feet? and maybe he is desperate to get you to do your fair share? You also sound very young so maybe you should go back to school so you can take care of yourself with or without him.

A man never leaves his family unless he already has someone lined up.

I think since he says he doesn't want a wife he is saying that he wants to try out a man and I know that it might be weird but I think it's true...sorry.
