My former supervisor made beaded badge holders at work. He did this to raise money for our Cancer Center.
He used fishing string and the little clips you can buy at Walmart and multi colored beads and shapes. He sold them for 10.00 a piece. It was very time consuming but he loved to do it. He raised over thousands of dollars.

If you're going to go into beading, get some instruction first, either in a class or by book or online. There are lots of folks making jewelry -- some of them very good at it -- so buyers have a lot to choose from. If there's no particular reason they should choose your product, you may not sell much. Most crafts stores sell ready-to-finish wood objects. I don't think too many folks are doing that right now (the various finishes on wood) so it may sell better. Don't go in for fad crafts, since that's what "everyone" will be selling. Find your own niche product and do it well.

Visit several craft fairs ( there are lots this time of year ) and look to see which crafts attract the most buyers. Jewelry sells well if is stylish and not too expensive. I have always been successful with polymer clay holiday pins such as Santas and angels around Christmas and bunnies and egg baskets at Easter. The pins cost me very little to make and I sold them for $3.00 each....usually selling 300 in a weekend. If you have a unique product and it is well made and not too expensive you should do well.

I had this come up w/ me and my husband (mechanic) He's a Snap-On guy. I called the rep and asked what my husband had been interested in, then bought it. We also had a "date" for his favorite football team. I just put together some high calorie munchies, got some beer and set the date, then we watched it together at home. He thought it was great and he had bragging rights w/ the guys at the shop.

'm a recreation director and teach crafts. I would need to know your age first. Chocolate candy making is soooo easy but you need about 1 1/2 to devote, about $10. worth of supplies to start.
Lighted potpourri bowls are great. Initial investment is about the same but takes less time. email me ar dmg1238@yahoo.com.
Let me know your age, amount of time you're willing to devote at one period, and money you want to invest into this. Is it for gifts or to sell. hope this helps.....me
