You know what has always bothered me about that one? Lyrically, it is without a doubt U2s most beautiful song. I mean, just look at these lyrics:

Who's gonna ride your wild horses?
Who's gonna drown in your blue sea?
Who's gonna taste your salt water kisses?
Who's gonna take the place of me?

Who's gonna ride your wild horses?
Who's gonna tame the heart of thee?

My problem is, it sounds like they recorded it in a damn warehouse. You can barely hear the lyrics. If you've heard it, you'll know what I mean.

Yes, it is a truly beautiful song. I think the warehouse effect adds to the beauty. It's kinda haunting. Achtung Baby is my fav U2 album. I like Acrobat. That song is one of the best ever. I think that album is the most played in my collection. A fantastic array of truly beautiful songs.

MacArthur Park, written via Jimmy Webb, first played via Richard Harris (sure, THAT Richard Harris) "MacArthur Park is melting in the dead of night All the candy, inexperienced icing flowing down... Someone left the cake out within the rain I do not suppose that I can take it 'rationale it took goodbye to bake it And I'll in no way have that recipe once more Oh, no!" Edit: To the man who stated "Blinded By the Light" - it was once written via Bruce Springsteen. The long-established line was once "reduce free like deuce". He was once relating to a '32 Ford. The lyrics are beautiful unhealthy simply the identical. Not Bruce's first-rate.

I love that song. I think it is intentional that it sounds that way.
The whole album sounds that way, but I still love it.

I don't think it is lyrically U2's best song, they have too many to count.
