i have a 2002 dodgr ram 4x4 with the electronic 4 whhel drive engage button it goes in hi range ok but will not go into low range 4 wheel drive the low range light blinks but will not engage

you have to be stopped and in neutral to engage 4lo.

High range is nothing but a clutch in the transfer case engaging. Low range is gears in there shifting. It might just be the sensor in the case that tells the computer what range it's in. If anything is wrong with it, the computer just keeps it in high range. Fords are easy to remove and repair, but I'm not familiar with Dodges.

Are you following the correct procedure to press the button? You may have to be in neutral when you shift it in 4x4 mode. When you put it in gear it should pop in. Be cause the gearing is so low you have to be almost if not completely stopped before you go in 4x4 Low

ditto on what dodge dude said. also you might have to be rolling a lil sometimes too. I have a 03 dakota that even in N I still have to get it to roll a lil.
