The latest Playstation has a Blu-ray high-definition DVD player and the Cell microchip, dubbed a "supercomputer on a chip," which provide lifelike graphics and high-speed downloading of game software and video clips.

It has one of the most advanced processors available. And ummm, it has a lot of features built in. I'm pretty sure its Blu-Ray capability ramps up the price quite a bit. I think it has an HDD built in as well, so that adds to the price. I've seen some of its games, they're nice looking but to be honest, the early games don't really look that much better than PS2 graphics, maybe a little better.
