I need glasses, but would like to know if contacts are better?

Both have their pros and cons. I like contacts because you can still wear your eye makeup without having to work around glasses. Also, no one can tell you're wearing them. By late at night, they make my eyes feel heavy and taking them in and out is a pain. Glasses are better to have around the house. I actually only put my contacts in when I'm going out. Otherwise, I just wear glasses since I can slip them on and off. In my opinion, it's best to have both.

Modern soft contact lenses are very breathable and some are so safe that you can sleep in them every night for a month, if they are comfortable for you. There are still rigid (hard) contact lenses out there that are not so breathable, so you can avoid those, since they can "chip". Soft contacts don't chip, but they can tear with mishandling and feel like an edge is poking into your eye. I have worn contacts for 30 years and that has only happened to me once. My daughter started wearing contacts when she was 12; she is almost 16 now and has never had a day of trouble. Sometimes her eyes get tired; she just wears glasses for a day and then all is well. Glasses are definitely healthier, but my problem with glasses is that I don't see well out of the corners of my eyes, and so I much prefer contacts. If you keep your hands very clean when you handle your contacts, follow proper lens care procedures, and discard the lenses according to your doctor's advice, you should have no problems. I only had an eye health problem once with contacts and it was entirely my fault: I had a case of pink eye and I started to use contacts again when the infection hadn't completely healed. It messed up my corneas and I had to use prescription drops and lay off contacts for two months. If I hadn't been so eager to wear the contacts I wouldn't have had any problem at all!

Contacts are better because then your not pushing your glasses up all the time. Also with glasses you can look out of the glasses, and with contacts you can't. And last contacts you can have diffrent colors, And thats pretty cool!!!

Depends. I have both because I have a condition called dry eye which doesn't allow me to wear contacts for a long period of time, so use the glasses as an alternative. Contacts can be expensive if you are not very careful with them. Small tears, etc render them unusable and they happen easily. So if you are a careful person, give some disposables a try. And be careful with eye make-up application. Contacts first!

Contacts take a bit to get used to, but glasses fall off all the time. Get contacts.

I love my contacts. I wear glasses also when I am at home, but contacts are great. You don't have to worry about someone accidently hitting them and messing them up, or getting something on the lens then cleaning them, or the sliding down your nose. I would use contacts when I am out and glasses when at home.

if you're an active person and play lots of sports than contacts are better. if you arent then glasses will do. if you get contacts dont get colored ones..supposudly its not good for your eyes. and always keep a spare pair of glasses handy incase you want a break from contacts. good luck!

Well, I'm not a big fan of putting things in my eye so I'm going to have to go with glasses. I'm aways scared I'll fall asleep with contacts in and when you wake up, its so painful !
