buy a piece of counter top ( usually a bargin if you look at returns and such at home depot, or menard's) attach "L" brackets to the wall or a 1x2 5ft. long - you can sit the counter top on 2 filing cabinets or milk crates - I have one on 2 filing cabinets. works like a charm - much better than the desks in the stores and a lot less $$$$$ Walmart has 2 draw oak filing cabinets for under $30.00 each - you will need to assemble them. they are very nice - coupled with a black/granite looking counter.... regular formica counter is now made to look like granite! looks fabulous.

why don't u go to home depot or lowes and get a piece of wood that is that size, they can cut it for u, and then put it up with those brackets that sorta look like this< or L shaped and then paint it or stain it the color u want and wallah u have a desk.

Go to www.craigslist.com, look through the free stuff or post your own ad for a free desk in your area. You would be surprised what people will give away or trade for. It's a free website.

Go to the salvation army or thrift stores they always have things like that and if you do find something but its not your type of item you can at least paint it to fit your style.

Try advertising on your local FreeCycle group and maybe someone will have a desk that you can have for free in your area.
