Turn off all television sets, all radios, and all but one light next to a comfortable chair, and read a book with a glass of milk, water, or any other non-caffeinated and non-sugar drink. Have a snack if you like as well - anything high in protein, but low in sugar or starch - sugar keeps you awake, and starch becomes sugar in your body. Veggies are good for a bedtime snack too.

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.

Get up and do something that doesn't require much thought or physical activity for about 20 minutes then go to bed.

benedryl is an excellent and safe way to get to sleep. it's an antihistamine, and causes drowsiness. it's relatively inexpensive, over the counter, and comes in generic. it also has no residual effects, so you won't wake up groggy. hope you get some good sleep soon!

Learn to do a headstand. After I learned the headstand & the shoulderstand in yoga, I found that they made me very sleepy very fast.
Good Luck!
