Most small buisness pizza places, printed on thier boxes, are buisness cards of local buisnesses in the area. It costs about $100 a month to hold a place for you, and will generate an enormous amount of buisness for you. If you think about how many people order pizzas a day, multiply that by a month... you will get new buisness for yourself!
You can also try running an ad in your local paper for a week and see what happens with that (more people get the paper everyday than eat pizza).
Lastly, when you go to people you do know, see if you can get any refferals of people you don't know. See if you can get all your friends together with thier friends and have an Avon Party (those are always fun)! These things will definately get the ball rolling for you! Good Luck!!!

Well I actually had someone that I didnt' even know leave their Avon books with their name and number on the back in my mailbox. I don't buy Avon so I didn't buy. However, if you do that and happen to stumble on someone who just moved into the neighborhood or their Avon representative quit or moved away you may have a potentional customer.
My daughter's jr. high school is selling ad space in their yearbook. I asked a friend of mine who sells Avon if she wanted to buy an ad space and she did hoping to bring in new customrs. Of course, the parents won't see their children's yearbook until the end of the school year but she's hoping it will drum up some business.
You can also post an ad on www.craigslist.com and that might bring in some business as well.

I used to sell Avon yrs ago. Was quite successful. Start by taking your brochures along to every appt you have. Give them to your Dr. office, your dentist, bring extras if they want some for the lobby.Give them to the girls at the movie store and the grocery store. Take them to any place of business in your neighborhood that has a counter and explain who you are and ask if you could give them a book to look at. Most people are familiar with Avon and will gladly take a book.It is also getting close to Xmas. This is a great time of yr to carry your demo giftables with you and lots of samples of the mens and womens colognes. The men also like to buy stocking stuffers for their wives and girlfriends. Have fun!

get those small plastic bags with handles and hang them on doors. also maybe local hairdressers could keep a few at their front desk.

ask people in conversation when you go places, like hair dresser, gym, church, etc. Most will least take a bronc hue.
