"You never know what you've got till its gone"
This hit me yesterday walking home from a visit to the cemetary.
Quiet companionship. Walking arm in arm in our favorite park. Sitting with arms around each others shoulders. That moment before a kiss.
Rememberance Day brought this home to me.
Do you have moments that "ambush" you ?
Love, Rose P.

For da ben dan,
Yes, I climbed the gate and reached Gwen's grave without disturbance.
I wove the poppy stems to form a mat of the flowers and laid them over the words "UNKNOWN TO GOD".

I miss some of the wonderful things that I had when I was a teenager. Like rollerskating, Riding bikes, and as I got older and out of school, I miss the nice looks and whistles, I got from many good looking guys. I still get the looks, but no whistles. . I miss the guys riding down the street in a convertable and whistleing at me. Hollering Hey Babe, ya wanna ride ? Well I met my sweet husband and he still calls me Babe. I miss our youth and when we were going together and dancing at Matter's Ballroom. I miss the wonderful bar hopping that we did together. Never getting tipsy, but enjoying just being together. I miss my Sweet little boy, and my Mother and Father and so I could go on and on. Thanks for asking. Brought back many memories I miss.

Yes, I miss the feel of the unlimited future ahead of my life..I realize that my time here is now much shorter.
I miss some of the earlier passions...that kissing scene in Brokeback Mountain..all that testosterone...Just once more I'd like to feel that much passion.
I think sometimes that we were meant to miss things..but I'm not quite certain what I mean by that...nostalgia means something I think.
I miss my family and many of my friends...
yes, you're right Rose, we all have moments that "ambush" us.
BTW did you do the poppies at the cemetary??

Your question is lovely, and it brought tears to my eyes.
You don't have to be 'older' to lose someone, and miss them.

Anything can bring it back, even years later - a photo, or the smell of someone's aftershave, or a song on the radio.

It does get easier to deal with, though. I didn't believe that for a long time when people told me, but it does.

I remember walking into a bookstore a few years ago after my Mother had unexpectedly died. There was a large display of Mothers Day books, and it made me miss her. As time goes by, you look back with fondness and happiness for what you had instead of missing what you have lost.

yes rose i do. i simply cant share them as freely and poetically as you simply because it brings me down. the feelings that you express of comfort only remind me of pain.
so what im doing to avoid that thought process is unpacking and swinging by the monitor and taking a glance at it every now and then. something catches my eye, ill express myself but not for to long.
ive been watching your questions for a while now. your genuine and sincere. a wonder full person. whoever gets to share your heart is going to be a very fortunate person. i wish you lots of luck soon.
