My guess would be New York City, and then Chicago. But over the past ten-fifteen years it's been wherever in Canada since it's much cheaper to film up there and make us believe it's a big US city.

Probably the most filmed city is nyc die hard 3 was filmed entirely in new york city except the ending. but id also have a hard time betting against miami as a filmed city more so then LA. LA is probably filmed because the directors and most actors live out there so they probably just choose LA over miami for convience. but i know miami is filmed alot miami vice was filmed down here, couple of the rock's movies , bad boys 2, police academies, the water boy the swamp part. if ya need a sexy beach or a swamp chances are they'll film in miami.

I'm a little late getting in this question. So, I didn't peak at other answers. Here goes. I would say New York City, N.Y. Usa or Vancouver, B.C. Canada.

NYC or Chicago I would believe. Chicago aggressively promoted the windy city for movies for awhile.

On-location? Probably LA or that area, but NYC is the most commonly recreated city.

In and around L.A., Santa Monica a lot. They filmed "A League of Their Own" here. I was an extra.
