Humans are naturally monsters that roam around this chamber of darkness that we would like to call Earth. People are cruel at times and we are mostly blinded by our own greed. Sometimes people have more light in them then others...but soon the light will dim down where they shall release their monster side. No matter how good we act...there is still at least a little of us that is trying to be free...to act cruel to people. And sometimes we let this monster free, demolishing other people's lives with our own hands. But others actually have the strength to hold it back.
And at times we are sad little humans that believes that we will not be wounded again if our monster was free while we hide in the darkness of life. At least once we experience crying alone in our room and hopeing that world can just disapear so that way you could never be wounded again. But in reality...we shall always be hurt....but it is the light that helps us get through it. Because all of us needs to move forward.

That's a pretty good way of putting it. Everybody has a dark side. Everybody.

I get the impression you've thought this through and refined your metaphor a few times.

I once thought similiarly, but they were dark times for me. I didn't trust anyone (and I mean *anyone*) and I convinced myself the world was, as you put it, a chamber of darkness. With this knowledge, I declared myself greater-than-human because I was the only person in the world who seemed to realise that humanity was its own enemy. Nevertheless, these times fortunately passed when one day I just broke down and I didn't want to hate anymore. A friend of mine triggered it, a friend who was willing to listen, to help and to make me happy again. The will to help was all it took, and then my life changed. Forgive me if I'm being longwinded, but the best way I can describe it is that my life was spent in a house with all the windows closed, no air to breathe, no people to see. (I had actually transformed my room into that state for a while.) Then, along came my friend and the windows were opened, I could see the sun, and the grass, and the azure sky, and I never wanted to have the windows closed again.

I guess what you're going through is something remotely similar. People hurt, whether they mean to or not. They never fully understand how much damage they do though. I've learned that forgiving those who hurt you is the only way to heal yourself, and rekindle that fire of goodness and happiness.

I do not agree with some points, such as where you have said that "trying to be free....to act cruel to people." I do not live in fear of losing control and becoming cruel. That isn't possible for my nature at this point to cross the line and side with evil, even though some may present evil to me in the future. I also do not agree with the, "we shall always be hurt" part either, even though life can get bumpy. The hurt is not a constant or eternal.

No, not really.

If human nature is dark and monsterly, then why would you think 'light' is going to help/save you-- going against your nature, heh. That's great. Have fun with that impossibility. Otherwise human nature isn't as specified-- which is more likely the case, no?

Very well written, but despite what the others have written about agreeing all of us have a dark side? Nah! I think I'm a wonderful person and I love myself, and love what God has created.

Whether I agree with you philosophy or not is besides the point. It is your philosophy - not mine. Philosophy is about thinking, about trying to make sense of the nonsensical world around us. That is what you are trying to do. You are a young Philosopher.
