Hands down, if you own Jason Kidd, keep him! If not, get him for Sam Cassell. Though Jason Kidd's minutes are down to about 34 minutes a game this season due to the emergence of rookie Marcus Williams. Kidd still posted a triple-double at the start of the season and almost had one yesterday against the Miami Heat when he finished with 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists.

In the triple-double category, he is fourth all-time with 76 and just needs three more to pass the late Wilt Chamberlain. Not a lot of people can do that, which makes Kidd an enigma. As for Sam Cassell, he gives you great leadership and charisma, two categories that are not counted in Fantasy NBA. He is a good source for three pointers and assists and may at times give you a handful of rebounds, steals, and the occasional block shot. However, keep in mind that Kidd is more durable (meaning he will play in more games) than Sam "I Am" Cassell, who has already missed some games in the preseason.

Hope this helps!

Kidd a few years ago, was a sure fire first round draft pick in fantasy drafts. Last year, injury concerns dropped his stock to the point where he was found hanging around in the second or even third rounds. When healthy, Kidd is one of the top point guards (if not the best) in the NBA. Those who nabbed him in the third round last season were rewarded with 13.3 points, 7-plus rebounds, 8-plus assists, nearly two steals and 1.7 threes per game. You will have to endure the dismal field goal percentage, but he’ll make you happy as he flirts with triple-doubles on a nightly basis. He’s not shy about involving his teammates and with proven scorers like Vince Carter, Richard Jefferson and even Nenad Krstic on his side, he’ll come close to challenging Steve Nash for the league lead in assists this season.
and for sam cassel Defying old age and holding off a top-notch prospect, Sam Cassell turned in yet another fantastic fantasy season in 2005-06. Undoubtedly helped by the emergence of Elton Brand, Cassell turned in a performance comparable to years past. After struggling mightily with injuries a year ago, Cassell put the injury concerns behind him by playing in 78 games. When on the court, Cassell is one of the best point guards in the percentages. In his 13-year career, he owns a 45.6 percentage from the floor and a 85.9 percentage from the free throw line. He can score and dish and grab about a steal a game, so he is adequate in almost every category. Brought in by the Clippers to be a mentor to their young stud Shaun Livingston, Cassell was able to fend off the youngster and should do so again this season so long as he stays healthy.

So I will have to say that whoever is getting Jason Kidd is getting a beter deal.

The team that has Cassell. Jason Kidd might be on the decline but he is still one of the best point guards in the league, that just shows you how good he is. He has superior court vision to Cassell, he might score less but he doesn't need to score to control a game. He can rebound better, and defend better.

I hate to be redundant but the team that would get Jason Kidd, namely the Clippers, would be getting the better end of the deal. Cassel is good, and better than a lot of point guards, but one of them is not Jason Kidd.

Whoever is getting Kidd is getting the better deal. Kidd is a playmaker, he's shown this season (last night, rather) that he still has game left in him. He's a playmaker, and plays way better defense than Cassell. Kidd has also been to two NBA Finals (In a row... '02 and '03), so he has the veteran playoff experience (unlike Cassell, who's only made it to the Western Conference Finals with the T'Wolves in '04)

Winner: Kidd

Whoevers getting jason kidd is getting the better deal because kidd can ball handle, shoot, and rebound. sam cassel can only ball handle and shoot but sam cassel has a better three point shot and free throws. but kidd can dish up assists and dunk. So take your pick but personally i would have kidd because him and vince carter would make a killer team.

Kidd is better and younger than Cassel, and puts up stats in many categories (rebounding especially)

Clippers [is that the team Cassell is still on? sry not sure] would get the better deal. JKidd's still putting up triple doubles..frequently.
