Well put. A world government, what purpose would it serve. There always has been and always will be two sides.
A new world order is a scary thought. Popular mainstream (worldwide) belief teaches the world about tolerance. tolerance is a good thing, but you can't enforce it, in order to do that you would lose many if not all personal liberties.

It would be evil and horrible. No person or "group" should rule the whole world but Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, you'll get a one world government eventually under antichrist, but it will only last seven years. It's man's attempt to do the "tower of babel" thing

Several empires throughout history have tried to rule the world. There are always two sides to every story. You have the empire and you have the rebels. At the end of the day the empire always crumbles because it becomes to large to control itself.

It would never work. Part of the reason there are wars (i.e. Israel vs. Iran, US vs. Iraq) is that each area/country thinks that their philosophy/government is what everyone should follow. But as you have seen (even with us), our freedom to disagree allows our government to succeed in many areas.

Super-inefficient, representation would be uneven(assuming it's a democracy), and the bureaucracy would be huge. The most powerful regions would be running it while the weaker regions could only pretend to have clout.
