I drove up to Washington DC last week from Raleigh, and I had my mapquest route with me just in case, but I didn't need it and I just followed the Interstate signs all the way, and it got me there.

Has that ever worked for you?

It doesn't always work that easily..actually, more often than not road signs are misleading. I would always take the map just in case ;)

I drove to Oklahoma just by following the signs and my husband and I drove to Phoenix, AZ from New York we brought a map but did not use it. I have also driven to Montgomery Alabama with out a map! You get to see so much more! I love road trips!

Both. Map out your trip first. Now you have a general idea. Then follow road signs.

Map first, then signs. But that's probably because I live in New England, where they don't like to use road signs, because if you don't know where you are, you obviously don't belong there!
