I have been having frequent wet dreams as of late. I'm a 19 year old male and I want to know two things. First, is it normal to have frequent wet dreams at 19? Secondly, how do you stop them?

The reason I want to stop them is that they create such a mess, as everyone knows. I'll admit that they are otherwise quite enjoyable, but it's kind of embarassing waking up with my sheets glued to me and my roommates staring.

I also want to say that I have no problem with girls helping me here, even though this is about the sexual health of guys. If they have some special insight that I don't, then by all means tell me. Girls rock...

You sound like a very normal nineteen years old. Sexual maturity as part of nearing adult maturity includes erections and wet dreams. You can, at your age with all those hormones shooting through your body, easily get stimulated sexually by dreams and even orgasm. This is an entirely normal, healthy response. It is also involuntary, meaning that your will or conscious thought has nothing to do with it. Masturbation would in all probability help stop or reduce the frequency of wet dreams. Medically, there is nothing wrong with masturbation and it is seen by a number of professionals as a natural part of discovering your own sexuality. How to stop your problem. I don't think there is any clear answer. You should make frequent changes of underwear and bedclothes. You can assure yourself that it is a normal, passing phenomenon. Just learn to live with it. It is not dirty, nor is it abnormal, just a part of life as you reach full maturity. You have not said why you want them to stop. Some people have ideas that masturbation is Biblically wrong or against other spiritual teachings. Many people do not. If your parents or others close to you believe that, then that is their belief. It does not have to be your belief.

Ok, you said you dont mastubate normally. I think this is why you frequently have wet dreams, think about it. Yourbody is always making new sperm, if you never get rid of the old sperm then the storage will just overload, if you masturbate 2-3 times a week this will stop the wet dreams

Yes its normal. You should just enjoy them. Or if you masturbate more often ( a couple of times a day is not to much for a 19 year old with a good imagination) It wont be so messy at night.

It's normal in puberty and teenage years. I was getting them into my twenties. But at some point, you get married, and they stop. Enjoy them now. There's no need to stop them.

It's normal as guys go through puberty & early adult years. They stop as you begin masturbating.
