Does anyone know if the chewable prenatal vitamins (given to me by my dr. office) are better to take with food or on an empty stomach? His assistant gave them to me and I didn't even think to ask them and the labeling says to just take 1 a day.

It doesn't matter if you take them with or without food.
However it would matter if the prenatal vitamins are making you nauseous! If they don't set well with you, I have heard Doc's recommend to take them before you go to bed so hopefully you will sleep through the nausea!
You will find what works best for you and your body!
Congrats and good luck!

I would take them after a meal instead of on an empty stomach. Prenatal vitamins are high in iron and sometimes you may burp or just taste them a long time after you take them and its gross.Having food on your stomach helps with that. That was my experience anyway. LOL

The OTC ones are merely tremendously much as good through fact the prescribed ones. The OTC ones have all the supplements which you and toddler want. The prescribed ones generally have somewhat greater supplements in them. So the two way your good. i'm getting the only an afternoon prenatal supplements, $13 for a month furnish. It probably doesn't matter unless you have a sensitive stomach then take with food. My prenatal vitamins don't say on the bottle to take with food.

It really does not matter either way but I would take with food if prone to get sick from vitamins. Even though they are easier on your stomach they can still make you feel a little sick on empty stomach.

It doesn't really matter if they are taken with or without food. Some people may experience some gastrointestinal (stomach) upsets if the multivit contains ironand they take it on an empty stomach, but most people have no problems.Find what works for you and stick to it,ignore what other people say worked for them-it's your body and you will or won't react in "your" own way.
good luck with the pregnancy

It's best to take it with food! for sure. you do damage to your stomach when you take even an aspirin on an empty stomach.

you can take them either with food or without

depending how far along you are....you may want to take it with a banana or a slice of bread only to soak up the actual smell of the vitaman. that's always what made me sick was the smell itself.
