Check the web for Pow-Wows (yes they are really called that) in your area. They occur all over the U.S.

Check your local newspaper in the entertainment section. At this time of year, Native Americans host autumn pow-wows that are open to the public. You could also join a group such as the North American Indian Association. Look online or check the Yellow Pages for a Chapter near you.

On Thanksgiving, the natives have a three day pow wow.So you would need to find a reservation to go to one.I have one about 15 minute drive from where i live.My sister n law goes to them every year and has a great time. She brought me home some Sweet Grass to burn and it smells nice. Also i have had my house smudged with Sweet Grass to ward off evil. But let me tell ya,those natives know how to party and have fun.

We don't party, we have spiritual ceremonies. You can only be with them if invited. Non-natives are not included in these ceremonies because they don't understand the reason behind the ceremony. We, as Natives, need to keep some things to ourselves.
