Everyone who has answered is correct to a certain extent, but I do agree that you have to have a degree of talent there to begin with, the main thing that fails most people is a lack of self confidence, but if you have no talent that doesn't matter either as you've probably seen some of the big headed disasters on talent search shows! Basically if you have a glimpse of talent then go and work on your breathing, the best breathing exercises are deep relaxation techniques where you train your lungs to breath deeper and longer, then work on pitch/technique/tone/rhythm and style. Experiment with changing your voice, this will also strengthen your vocal chords and give you more experience, the more you practise the better you will get. Oh & try not to smoke! that damages your vocal chords and your nasal passages, aswell as just your lungs. I sung from a young age in recording studios etc and I write and produce music now, most of my family have been or are musicians and in bands, so if you need further advice just post again. ;-)

I don't think you can teach anybody how to sing. If you can't hit the notes then it's over. If you are ok you will improve by just getting out there and using your voice more.

I am sure there is a dummies guide to singing...
or u cud just attend voice training classes...
its good to gargle with hot salty water apparently it cleans ur throat..
also dont start singin str8 away.. humm first, do tongue twisters in song versions, do the same tune in a, e, u , i, o, la , humm, and stuff like that...
best to check out some classes around ur area! or ask a mate to help!!
also dont eat too much junk food.. :D
best of luck!

Hi Karl, I've been told by professional stage singers that anybody can learn to sing. Its about breathing and the shape you put your mouth into.

Difficult yeah, but focus on your breathing, 70% of singing is breathing. (lie down and breath normally, that is how your breathing should be when singing.)

singng kinda comes naturaly, either you got it or you dont, so if you dont have it naturally, even the highest paid teacher can not help you. but if you have it just practice on two things, control and pitch if you nail thoose you shoild be fine.
