Did you mean candle wax? If so, you can use baby oil or olive oil or mineral oil to dissolve the wax. Pour a capful on and rub it around until the wax dissolves. Use paper towel to absorb as much of the oil as you can. Now spray "Spray n Wash" on the oil and wash the dress as you usually would.

The best way 2 remove wax, is with an iron, and a cotton cloth on top of the article with the wax stain. Heat up the iron, not to hot since your article has spandex though. Start out with a very warm setting, and put the cloth on top of the wax, being sure to keep the iron moving, not sitting stationary. Slowly increase the heat, and move your cloth to absorb more each time. You may need to use 2 or 3 different clothes, depending on the size of wax you are trying to get out. Heat will melt to to wet stage again, allowing you to remove it slowly. Do not use too high a heat for your clothing article, or you will end up losing it all together. Also, be sure that you dont allow the wax to soak through to the bottom layer of clothing you are working on. Use cardboard or something as a barrier for the wax when it is heated up.
Hope that helps!!
It wont work with every stain, but it will work with some wax stains.

Or you could place the part of the garment that has the wax on it in a bowl of ice cubes until the cubes start to melt. This should make the wax so brittle that it breaks and flakes off. Once the excess has been removed from the surface saturate the spot with a stain remover (believe it or not carpet cleaners are good for this) and then wash as per instructions but now not later.

Buy a new dress. If it's polyester and spandex you can probably pick one up for £2.
If you are too poor, try vinegar.
It's an acid so is excellent at gently removing stains.
