Remember that "liberalism", "enlightenment", and "humanitarian concepts" reflect OUR values. These ideas, even fully and clearly explained, would have meant nothing to a sixth century AD Briton such as King Arthur. They would have been regarded as works of the Devil by a 13th century Catholic Inquisitor. I happen to support all three of them, but that does not make them universally shared values.

As for the Vedas, the previous pundit's principle is correct ~ society was spiritually and materially more advanced 10,000 years ago than it is now ~ but the dates are debated. SOme wise people say we are now in Dwapara Yuga, that is the second ascending age on our way back to the Golden Age.

According to the Vedic understanding we are actually digressing, not progressing. People use to live longer over 5000 years ago buildings use to stand longer, technology was actually more advanced even millions of years ago according to the Vedic texts. It has been prooven by science and archaeologists. Read the book The hidden History of The Human Race by Michael A. Cremo and go to http://www.stephen-knapp.com for more universal info

While many advancements have been made , most people either haven't changed much or have been spoiled by the conveniences and do rightfully or not expect more faster.
