Demand that they connect via Ethernet. If you ever want to do ANYTHING but surf the net, you will have to change it out...example hook up router, vonage, wireless, server, firewall, etc.
If you dont have ethernet on your PC, go get an expansion card for $15

Don't use both. Most routers only have USB 1 in them anyway, which is 12mbps compared to 100mbps ethernet. No broadband is 100mbps for residential yet so it won't affect your download and browsing speeds.

Both are about the same. You will never know the difference. I would prefer ethernet.

internet through cable is definetly better than anyother kind of internet connection for many reasons. It is much faster and does not need to intertupt your phone line.

your ISP company will provide you with everything you need, usually its a cat5 ethernet cable from modem to pc...
