Originally I was planning on going to London for my 21st birthday week to be with my boyfriend. I told my friends this and they were like "if you do that to us, we're going to be pissed off at you."

We live so far away from each other though and he wants to take me to amazing places like Paris, France! I want to go to London, I've already decided but when should I let my friends know? I'm going to tell them that its my birthday and I should decide where and what to do.

I mean, if they think its fair that "oh your boyfriend can wait till the week after your birthday", then maybe its fair that they wait too?

I don't live far from london and it really is quite an exciting place and full of different cultural experiences.

If your friends like you enough, they will allow you to make your own choices and be happy for you to do the things you want to do with your life. You are not abandoning them just because you are going to london! - they are acting quite jealous and shouldn't be. Let them know that you aren't going forever - it is just for a few days or weeks and you will send them each a postcard. True friends would be glad for you and wish you all of the best, not be pissed off at you.

If there attitude continues the way it is, leave them to it. Afterall, you are getting a life of your own now that you are nearly 21, and they should be doing the same thing rather than act this way. If you did what they wanted you to do, then you would never ever get to London or even paris and this is no way to live a life for a young woman. They either have to accept it or lose a friend.

choose to go wherever you want to go and your boyfriend knows that you can always go to Paris any time and not necessarily on your birthday. Tell him that it is really great that he wants to take you to these exciting places, but just for your birthday, you really want to go to London. Your friends only need to be told what it is you want to do and they should accept it no matter what. They cannot rule your life and you should not put off seeing your boyfriend for them - no way!

He lives far away and the only way you can get to see him is very rare, so putting your plans on hold for your friends, may lose you your boyfriend who means just that little bit more to you. Go and see him, don't change your plans and let your friends know that you will celebrate your birthday the way you want to and if anything, they should be happy for you.

Real friends will wait for your return and be happy to celebrate your birthday a week late, because it is your interests that they should have at heart - not their own. If they are mad with you, let them be! - it is them who are making you choose between them and a life of your own besides them. They would be happy for you to see your boyfriend and go to london.

I really hope you have a lovley time and am sure that you will make the right decision for you and not what your friends want.

Charming friends you have there. Tell them they can have a party in your honour and go to London with your boyfriend. Friends should support you and be happy for you that you got the opp to go to London. You can always celebrate with them a bit later otherwise. Happy Birthday and enjoy!

First, provide up doing twatty issues. She does not fancy you so forget it. Secondly, she sounds like a appropriate uppity cow. tell her to loosen up somewhat, you have not carried out any actual harm, its all somewhat college kiddy to get a cob-on approximately it. If she would be able to't act like a grown up, she would desire to not be incredibly truthfully worth the attempt. and don't shop crawling and apologising. and don't enable people bollock you, you made a mistake and apologised, she would desire to be an person approximately it.

maybe they already had you're party planed and didn't want to tell you that. or they actually feel like you should be with them. tell them if its a surprise party could it wait till you get back.tell them you care how they feel but they should care how you feel.Especially in this situation.you need to decide which is more important there not understanding or you're boy friend. me if it was a surprise party i would ask them to hold off and if they are you re true friends they will if not they weren't much of friends to begin with.

Not sure why your friends are pissed off....hmmm lets see...could it be that they are just JEALOUS? Go see your boyfriend and have a blast!!! If they are truly your friends then they will be there when you get back. Why is it that they want you to go the following week???

of course they should be willing to wait. The only reason your friends want u home is so that they can take you out drinking, and excuse for them to go out drinking. once your twenty one u can go drinking whenever u don't really need the excuse. it is pretty petty of them to be pissed. go to london, it is the chance of a lifetime. if they don't get that f*ck em cuz they are probably not very good friends.

Tell each of your friends to get a life! If you do what to them? Spend your birthday how you want to. Sounds like they are way to needy.

Maybe they want you to celebrate your birthday with them instead of your boyfriend. And maybe also because your gonna leave them for a guy, but explain to them that you'll be back and you'll have lots of time to spend with them. They could be sad that you're leaving but they don't want to show it so they get mad at you.
