They sell combo VHS/DVD players with a DVD recorder that you can record your videos onto a DVD.

Here in the UK, there's a company that specialises in this kind of thing, and can transfer vhs tapes to dvds. Not sure if there is a way you can do it at home...?

yes it true that you can buy a combo cd recorder just ask like in circut city they sell them and target so you can record whatever you want to a cd
