Clean clothes on one end. garbage in bag.3.dirty clothes go in a pile outside your door.4 if anything needs to go to another room place it outside your room. DO NOT LEAVE THE ROOM. 5. put the clean clothes on the bed away. 6 put the rest of the stuff away-make sure everything has a place where it belongs- 7. go around the room starting at the door work right to left around the room and top to bottom dusting and straightening and throwing the garbage away. vacuum or sweep then take care of stuff in hall. Now set the timer and see how much of this you can do in 20 minutes. PLay some music and get going. Good luck you won't believe how easy this is. Get rid of stuff you don't need.

Yor not alone.
Everday im cleaning and it never ends! Especially the washing!
My mum tells me that everytime i get up and walk to another room, see if anything should go into the room (like kids toys),take it there. then hopefully the house should stay clean.
Given this, I do this for around 3 days(be on my best behaivour) and the house stays tidy, but if i miss a day im back to square one!
You know how they say that the wedding ring is round because it represents that the love should keep going on (there are no stops). I believe that they are wrong! It is a symbol to us to say that the cleaning just goes on and on and on and on!
Ive even bought a book on how to organise your life- a cleaning book i saw on oprah, It has some good ideas , but i feel to keep the houise clean you need to do what they did on desperate housewives- take your kids add medication lol.
Goodluck and dont get to hard on your self. Just buy lots of baskets and stick them in corners of every room and if guests come over just chuck every thing in the baskets, put the lid on and no one would be any wiser. And when these get full -sort them out and the things that you havent missed take them down to your local charity bin or simply just throw it out. After all im sure we are not suppose to spend our lives cleaning all the time!

Have a place for everything so when you pick it up you have someplace to put it instead of just 'transplanting' it.
Start in one corner of the room and whatever doesn't belong there put it where it goes.
OR put everything that is misplaced in a basket and clean all the clutter out at once.
Wash the dishes, and cleaner countertops with a good household cleaner. I like Lysol or Pine-sol.
Spray the bathroom down and wipe clean. After shaving, bathing, etc., wipe down sinks, vanity and hang towels to dry.
Vacuum floor as needed. Depends on how much dirt is tracked in and out.
If you don't feel like doing the dishes at night, rinse them off and put in dishwasher or sink.
Dust and mop once a week as needed.
Wipe down kitchen cabinets once a month or as needed.
When you have a llittle spare time clean out the refrigerator.
Keep all office supplies in one place.
This is not real thorough but it makes life livable and lifts your spirits.
Best of luck! If old habits resurface don't let it discourage just pick up where you left off.

YES!! sometimes I even find myself moving the pile from one end of the counter to the other!! or from one end table to another!! I haven't seen my dining room table in weeks because it is coverd with sewing right now. The only rooms I can keep clean and neat are the 2 bathrooms.

Just keep in your house only the things you are using, for example bed, kitchen underwear tooth brush, soap and a little food.

The key is to get rid of what you don't need or don't use.If it is just sitting around you won't miss it anyway!
