I have raised bettas for thirty years. I have seen long finned females a few times and can understand how one could believe the long finned female was male. However the long finned female does not have broad fins exactly like a male and is a mutation.
Sometimes males do not attack the female after spawning but I would get her out of there. she's the one with the skinny fins.

Ok rb,
WHAT THE H*LL WERE YOU THINKING PUTTING TWO MALE BETTA'S TOGETHER IN THE SAME TANK?!!!!!
Dad will be the one taking care of the babies...mom will be hiding somewhere...take her out and put her in a separate 1g or larger tank. Leave dad in for about three days...the babies should be swimming like a normal fish, not like mosquito larva...then take him out...put in a sponge filter (or corner filter)...get some Hikari First Bites...I found them at PetSmart...and hornwort...also at PetSmart...feed the babies only after they are swimming like normal fish...feed 2 to 3 times a day (don't over feed)...these babies grow pretty slow (mine are 2 weeks old)...I am just now seeing a small tail fin. I think around 3-4 months, they begin to look like bettas, but I am not there yet.
Go to www.bettatalk.com and do research!

One of your bettas was a female, naturally. Take both fish out of the tank. The male will kill the female (so keep them separated from now on) and they both will eat the babies. Do a lot of research on the internet about the rearing of baby bettas.
You have just started a family, congratulations!

One of them must have been a female. I was told I had male fish when I bought them then I ended up with babies too.

Well you can't really tell (unless you're an expert) if a fish is male or female. My guess is that the store made a mistake. Its a mystery but, that is the most reasonable answer.

You thought they were both males and you put them in the same tank? Not a good idea.

One of them must have been a female. I've had a goldfish get pregnant then the next day it was dead, so separate the two fish.

OH MY GOD!! CALL THE WEEKLY WORLD NEWS!! This story is even better than the one I saw not long ago that said Moses received additional commandments from God...they were written on the back of the slabs containing the original 10! And for those that can't tell, this is sarcasm...this means you roofaskid.
