Most Linkin Park songs are a combination of hip-hop, rock, and electronica. They don't really fit into any genre, and that's the beauty of it. They grew up in Los Angeles, hearing all different kinds of music and being influenced by so many different things that it all just got mixed together when they became a band.

The genre is Modern Rock. The 'Modern' may cover the combination of rap & rock, as this is becoming common.

They are generally thrown into the wide-based genre of rock, but are noted for their old-school hip-hop/traditional classic rock sound.
