I am extremely disappointed that the democrats have taken control of the house & the Senate. I don't think that people realize what is about to happen in our country. War is always a nail in the coffin of the incumbent party. It has always been that way. You guys have no Idea what you have done!!!!

I'm a Republican who was GLAD to see it happen.

Years ago (before I became a retired state employee), based upon my contacts with Agency Directors and Politicians - I started voting against all incumbents. Power corrupts and once they have been in power, they go down hill.

As former President Andrew Jackson once (is claimed to have said) "More is lost by having the same person in office, year after year, than was ever lost due to inexperience."

Glad isn't the word. Ecstatic probably works better. At long last, Congress has been given back to a party that cares about the ordinary individual and not the wealthy.

Bush will have it tough from here on out getting anything through despite his claims of working together - that should last about 48 hours after the new Congress convenes in January. The village idiot's reign of terror is over and a new day is dawning. Its about damn time!!!

Does it really make a difference? It's a 2 party system anyway. Look at their lobbyist and strong money supporters and you can see the writing on the wall in future events. Reagan for example was a democrat before he changed to republican. You could put a bunch of pig farmers in Congress and we would get more done.

Much actually remains to be seen. But I would say, "yes". The road that this country has been taken down over the last 6 years has gone from bad to worse to disastrous. It was definatiely time for a change. Let's just hope that the new congress can turn this country in a better direction. Not just for our public image, but in ways that will positively touch each of our personal lives also.

I am so happy. Bush will never say he is or was wrong. I really don't think he makes the decisions. It is all Rove and Cheney. I don't think the President is smart enough to find his way out of a paper bag. For example, if he had any sense he would have gotten rid of Rumsfeld before the election. He doesn't listen to the people so the people made him listen.
