Ear Candling is so relaxing it is like sitting by the camp fire and hearing the firwood crackle...very soothing procedure. You have to trust the person doing it or go to someone who has the experience if you have never done this before.

I had really bad allergies and took medication for it til I used the ear candles that cleared mine up for about two years, but I still don't have such bad allergies that I had. Oh and my hearing was so much better and I didn't realize I was so plugged up. My family rather me do it than go to the doctors and have the water used in their ear. I would consult with your doctor before doing such just so they know what you interested in doing and why.

It does work. It really helps with ear congestion after a sinus infection when your ears are full of fluid or if your hearing is dull. My family has used them for years. An ear irrigation from a doctor is very painful...I had one after a swimmers ear infection. Anyway, the warmth from the burning end helps draw out impacted ear wax. You would be very surprised at how much old dirty ear wax comes out. The wax will climb up the ear cone about 1-2 inches. I take a paper plate and cover it with tin foil and then poke a hole in the center of the plate to the diameter of the cone then insert the cone. This will catch any falling ash. I also put a damp towel around my hair and lay on my side then burn the cone down to the last 3 inches. It would help if you had someone that could help you hold the plate and ear candle. I use this method on my kids when they get a cold...it really helps keep ear infections down. Good luck!

That's an interesting question. Ear candling helps release excessive wax inside the canal. Now you can hear better. But what does this have to do with healing? Does excessive wax effect the rest of the body? Sort of. The real question is, does hearing have an effect on our health. Or more specifically does sound have an effect on our health. Myth, myth, myth, total myth el grande!

Take an ear candle. Light it without inserting it into your ear. The same gunky residue will still be produced.

Or to put it another way: If this was really a bright thing to do, wouldn't real doctors be doing it and charging for it?

It has been tested and it has no ability to pull anything out of the ear. But they say the smoke helps, maybe it is all placebo effect. Strengthen your immune system.
