I am a chronic asthmatic and have lived with this sort of thing all my life! Your teacher's perfume is what is called a "trigger" for you. That simply means that it "triggers" your bodies reponse, and in your case, that response comes in the form of migraines. You have rights, too - ya know! And unless you want to suffer in silence, then it is up to YOU to speak up about it (not your MOMMY!) So, this is how you do it tactfully and respectfully: As long as your motives are in the right place (which, I assure you, they are!) Write her a note and tuck it inside of a little card or something, write her name on the outside of the envelope and pass it to her after class. Your note should say something like:
Dear so & so:
I really enjoy being in your classroom and I think it's really cool that I'm learning a foreign language...especially French! However, I find myself in a slight predicament, and I'm not too sure of how I should handle this, which is the reason for this note.
I suffer from migraine headaches a lot (for which I am receiving treatment for) and sometimes "things" around me which I can not control, contribute to this. These are called my "triggers". The perfume that you wear, I am sorry to say, is a trigger for me.
It keeps me from focusing or concentrating while I am in your classroom. Quite often, strong smells set off migraine sufferers, and we too often, suffer in silence. Well, not me! I want to learn and I do enjoy French! So, any help you might have would be appreciated!
Thank you and I hope I haven't offended you!
Signed.....,
Okay! That should do it! Go GET EM TIGER!!!!!

I guess, if you wanted a way out, you could wait until the next time you got a migraine or headache, or indeed fainted. Then tell her that it runs in your family, and that her perfume sometimes triggers it. That should be a gentle way of saying, "You need to stop wearing perfume because it makes me ill."
I wish you luck.

I am the same way. I know this person that wears heavy perfume, she probably spills the whole bottle onto her!
She was making my eyes irritated and I was constantly sneezing
so I gently told her what her perfume was doing to me, and she realized that I was getting all these allergies symptoms when she was around. Luckily, she was nice to change her perfume.
Have you tried writing her a note, I would suggest typing it.
Talk to the principal, maybe the principal have had other complaints from your class.
Tell her that her perfume is making you sick.
It's very impolite and tacky to wear so much perfume I think.

You absolutely should tell your teacher. Keep in mind, however, that it is only "stinky" to you. Others don't seem to mind it. I understand that some people are very sensitive to strong odors, good or bad.
Simply tell your teacher that her perfume, although very nice, seems to be triggering a migrain, and you are finding it very difficult to concentrate in her class. Could she perhaps use a little less?

I know what you mean. I smell things other people don't. You are one of us. it is good and bad. I smell some people's perfume when they walk 50 ft ahead of me outside. Your teacher probably can't smell it at all, or barely. People get numb to smells quickly.
Maybe you could tell her of this conversation and ask if she is aware of it. If she asks why you ask, the door is open, and you can discuss it. Maybe you can ask if you can take a whiff of the bottle so it will numb your nose and then you can concentrate on the study. At least this isn't as sensitive as really bad body odor. Good Luck

In a work place, people are not to wear perfume! Same in hospital. Tell your mom about it and she will tell the director or principal of the school.
