The Bible is a collection of many writings by many authors. There are stories, histories, biographies and letters and political commentary. There are songs, poems, wise sayings, laws, and commandments. There are lessons about life and love and God.
Jews believe the authors of the Jewish Scriptures (Old Testament) were inspired by God.
Christians believe the authors of both the Old and New Testament were inspired by God.

Ummm.... God did. If you read it you'll find that, though written by a lot of different human hands, the general thoughts and ideas come from one mind... God. He inspired all those men to write (and some of them He even spoke directly to and TOLD them exactly what to write). You'll also find that if you study it (the Bible) enough (with prayer also), you find something that seems to be talking to you personally, that's because God IS speaking to you personally. You'll never find that particular scripture again. The Bible is the LIVING Word of God.
