Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free, so there's no harm giving it a try to see if something has invaded your computer.

I am not familir with this particular virus but as with all viruses such as upper respiratory if you can exose it to 107 degrees farenheit plus for 10 or more minutes you have put a sever dent in it's effectiveness. One way to do this might be some time in a sauna.

I pay $19 every 3 months for eAcceleration. You need a credit card, though. You can also purchase Norton either online or Walmart. Not sure about that one. I've heard both good things and bad. I saw a tag the other day from Yahoo offering a one month free Norton trial.

Give up using Windows, and install Linux on your computer. Linux is immune to all viruses, malware, spyware and adware.

Linux is a complete operating system that is either free or very cheap ($10-$30) and comes bundled with a huge variety of free software.

The Linux desktop is amazingly flexible and customizable, and anyone who is used to Windows will soon feel comfortable with it - and shocked by how dull their old Windows system looks by comparison! For example, in Linux you can use up to twenty (yes twenty) separate desktop work spaces - Windows only gives you one.

Go to www.distrowatch.com to find out how to get all the popular flavors of Linux...

...then do an image search for Linux screen grabs on Google.

Research it on either Symantec- (Norton-), or McAfee. Both sites generally have a step by step procedure for removal of different viruses, and sometimes tools for removal.
