This happens when an answer is above the limit of thumbs down, normally at something like 1 or 2, that Yahoo Answers will display.

Normal threshold is two thumbs down but you can change it. If an answer has two unopposed thumbs down, it gets hidden from public view. Just click "SHOW" or adjust your threshold.

I always see that when there's an answer with 3 or more thumbs down-its stupid, it just makes me wanna read it more. plus half of them are perfectly good answers just people give them thumbs down for no reason!
