I am the treasurer for a local Women's golf club and keep our money in my safe at home. The money now has a powerful musty smell that I can't get rid of. Any suggestions for cleaning it and keeping it fresh?

put it in a mesh laundry bag and throw it in the wash. It's mostly linen and will come out nicely. Lie it out to dry. Febreeze if necessary. As for keeping it fresh, put it in a ziplock baggie WHEN IT"S TOTALLY DRY. Good luck!

go to the bank and get new money, then put some charcoal or baking soda in the safe if that is where the smell is coming from.

Old money is disposed of through the federal banking system. It is easy and a common practice. If you can't or it is on a weekend Freebreeze works wonders.

Put it in a container filled with kitty litter and cover. The litter will absorb all odors.

Haven't you ever washed a dollar by accident?
Well, just run them in the washer or dishwasher next time you run them.
