I agree, I would also like to know why a government that could pull it off would reveal its plans to a bunch of penniless hippies and friendless Internet geeks.

They did the same thing with the 9-11 issue as they did with everything else this administration has been involved with, A PISS POOR JOB of covering it up. The reason they can't just kill everyone who is exposing it is because it gives it more credibility. they would prefer to stand behind false statements and tons of inaccuracies, that have left to many questions and brought out tons of people to question what really happened. This allows them to attack those people who say it was a conspiracy and call them "Crazy" in this way they can discredit them. This option they have chosen gives them the ability to place even some of the best minds in the country in a category of crazy. Hell if there wasn't at least one conspiracy then people would really wonder.
You have to realize that some of the most brillant engineers are even saying that the numbers don't add up. They have looked at the blue prints of the towers and said that in no way could the towers have come down the way the 9-11 commision reports it.
The jet fuel is what they claim caused the fall but engineers and physics professors say that jet fuel doesn't burn hot enough nor long enough to melt that center column. They also go further by pointing out that if the temperature of the building was that hot that we would not have seen people standing in the blown out windows or blown out walls of the building. The distance from the center column to the outer walls of the building would not have been great enough for people to withstand the heat that would have been necessary to melt the center column.
There are lectures on-line you can find that will give you more information in this area. It might even give you more insight as to why so many people believe in these conspiracy theories!

The government obviously cannot hide all mistakes, and it's not just a handful of people who think 9/11 is a conspiracy .Millions upon millions hold this belief its all most a religion,in many large democratic city's,& as the days in Iraq go by US trys to establish Democracy by force to a nation that dosnt want it.The point is, you cannot make anyone believe any thing with force. It only creates resentment & enemys

Questions such as this really bring 'em out of the woodwork, eh?
"Truth" "Proof" "Smart Enough" "Cover Up"
and a complete listing of websites and blogs to remove any reasonable doubt you might harbor.
Absolutely incredible.
Can you think of any major event in the last century that hasn't been the subject of numerous conspiracy theories?
Kennedy assignation, the moon landing, 9/11, Area 51, UFOs, Sen. Wellstone's tragic plane crash, the war in Iraq, rigged voting machines, etc .... etc .......
And everyone of them "proven" by rhetoric, unverifiable facts, lies, websites and op-blogs.

Did the government warn Rumsfeld and make him hide in a bunker when the plane hit the pentagon? I didn't think so.
How come its so hard for people to believe there are people outside our own government that want to kill us?
A dead American can't pay taxes.

The 9/11 conspiracies are true in the minds of the Liberals who concocted them, the only way our government would do something like that is if Bill Clinton was still President and got caught with his zipper down again.

the end result would be, the government seperating the weeds from the wheat.
No, they won't kill the people. President Bush made it clear though, not to believe conspiracy theories. Thats like a child molester saying "don't worry, you can trust me."

Why not encourage their conspiracy theories.. and lambast them on every media outlet available? This is an administration that thrives on enemies.

The 9/11 conspiracies are not true, however the dislike people have of Bush is real. Bush could have done more to protect America from that attack, but he did not cause it.

Mistakes were made.
What sense is there in killing conspiracy theorist when you can just dismiss them by claiming that the wear tinfoil hats. Besides if you killed off everyone that questioned your story you would just be making more unanswered questions and helping to prove them right.
