pray, think, meditate, do yoga. think about how you can improve your life, home or consider a project you've been meaning to tackle. sort out details of just about anything. it will be easier because you will have fewer distractions during a blackout. free the mind of worldly chaos. if you are with family, care for them as best as possible. food, drink, philosophical conversations. as long as you and anyone else feels safe, it's easier to remember that the blackout is only temporary.

Go around the house lighting oil lamps that I have for just such a purpose. I have a little tv that runs on batteries, too. Gotta feel connected when the power goes out. Also, quick run to the store for bread and milk.(cuz that's just what you do!)

Push the start button on my generator and flip the breaker. I live in the mountain,s of north Ga. And you have to have a back up for bad weather.The blizzard of 93 left us without power for 8 day,s.
