Yes but a large part of it in my opinion is the Kobe rape scandel and the NBA, and Nike choosing him as the poster boy of choice. Nike has a lot to do with James's popularity. But I've been been watching the NBA for a long time and I've seen a lot of players receive this treatment and not turn out to be the best. This list includes Grant Hill, Penny Hardaway, Chris Webber, Joe Smith, and more I probably can't think of right now. I am not saying this is going to happen with James because I don't know. All I am saying is that AI out scored and dished more assists last seaon then James, and I think Kobe is the better scorer, and I can't see the logic behind downplaying the importance of scoring ability. And James may be the best player one day, but he hasn't done anything yet in my opinion that has proved to me that he is the best or is going to be the best. I mean Kobe outscored one of the teams that made the finals last season through 3 quarters by himself. The only thing I see wrong with Kobe in my opinion is he seems a little mentally weak compared to Jordan when it comes to criticism because anyone who's been watching the NBA for a long time will remember Jordan was heavily critisized for being a ball hog and Jordan never listened and never gave up a scoring title because of it, whereas Kobe seems like he feeds too much into the critism and lets others control how he plays and how many shots he takes which is exactly what opponents would want him to do so they can be the man instead. But getting back to James so far to me he's proven that he is a top level All Star but he hasn't proven that he'll be the best ever.

He's overrated in being called the best player in the game. That goes to Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers, oh without question. However, James will be the best player in a few years once he matures even more and quits walking off the court; as well as walking out of his team. 'Gotta love LeBron, though.

Not really. Because he has the stats to back it up. He probably the best player in the NBA right now. He is so big (6'8" 250 lbs) but is only half a step slower than Dwyane Wade. He is a great passer and scorer. You can just give him the ball and he will create every time. The only weak point in his game is his defense but he has a long time to get better in it.
