Being a Chicago native and having moved to a Northern State, I say PIZZA, followed by a Chicago style Hot Dog, then Italian Beef sandwich. Those are the foods that Chicago is known for and you just can not get them as good as they are anywhere but Chicago.

PIZZA, they have to best pizza in the world. They have a hershey factory there, so they could be famous for that, but not as much as Chicago Style pizza. If you ever go there go to Gino's, and get the deep dish! YUM- long wait, but worth it.
Pizza, Hot dogs, bbq, maybe chocolate, some ice cream
no healthy food is there really? lol

I would have to say that Chicago is unique as far as foods, however mostly people eat nasty fast food-mcdonalds, and pizza and burgers and hotdogs,
why can't we get any good vegetarian food?

Frango Mints. The Twinkie was invented here ("The Twinkie's storied history began 71 years ago in Chicago when baker Jimmy Dewar concocted the cream-filled golden snack cake."http://www.sptimes.com/2002/06/26/Taste/The_Twinkie_transform.shtml). Oreo Cookies ("Nabisco produced 16 billion Oreo cookies in 1995 at its factory in Chicago, Illinois, the largest of its kind in the world." http://www.foodreference.com/html/fchicago.html). Brownies ("The brownie was invented in Chicago in 1893 by the chef of the Palmer House Hotel at the request of Mrs. Bertha Palmer. The ladies attending the Columbian Exposition needed something they could eat with their hands without getting them dirty, you see... http://chicago.about.com/od/fooddrink/a/120605_brownies.htm). Also, the jibarito (a Puerto Rican sandwich) , saganki, the flaming Greek cheese dish and Chicken Vesuvio were all invented in Chicago ("Strictly speaking, the jibarito, thinly sliced meat such as rib eye, flank steak or braised pork slathered in mayo, topped with tomato, lettuce, onion and melted American cheese and sandwiched between deep-fried garlicky plantains, isn't ethnic. Like flaming Greek Saganaki, which was invented on Halsted street in the late 1960s, or Italian Chicken Vesuvio (most likely at the 1933 Worlds Fair in Chicago), the jibarito was created by Juan Figueroa, the owner of Borinquen Restaurant in Humboldt Park. "http://www.newcitychicago.com/chicago/5590.html)
So you see, Chicago is more than just deep dish pizza.
