Place as much blame as you want on America and it's coalition for starting the mess Iraq is now in, but how long we can police that nation is a question that must be answered. Do any strategies and tactics have any hope of effecting a fairly positive outcome? Are the Iraqis doing what they can be expected to to help save their country, or must they do more?

+ We have given them the opportunity for freedom, they have to do some of the work now. If they do they can be free, If they rely on US, then they may be disappointed that we can't be there forever to protect them. Remember the happy crowds when they got to vote (the purple thumbs) and when they tore down the statue of Sadam? Well I guess then there is hope for them. They just need to appreciate the price that we paid for them and accept the price that they have to pay for themselves.

Iraqi has a ton of problems, I keep hope but only time will tell. That country is not starting anew like America did, it had an old government intrenched over many years and now to change that is a humongous task. On top of that, people are out to destroy what they are trying to build. It is sort of a losing battle. America's fight to turn Iraq into a democratic country could end up killing the whole country. Many Iraqi people have fled to neighboring countries. I don't see how anyone can even live there at all. That country does not have a unity and consensus of like-mindedness to save their country. I don't see how they can "do more" because they can't convert those rebels destroying it.

The Iraqi people are doing something for themselves which they have never had the opportunity to do before. They are having to learn how to work together to make things work. This will take time. A free country was never made that way overnight. They have some insurmountable problems to overcome, and they are doing the best they can. Give them some slack, our own country took a long time after the Revolutionary War to make a cohesive government, that all of the colonies accepted. The Iraqi people will figure it out.

The hope for the Iraqi people lies in us getting out of Iraq and letting the people do for themselves, it is our desire that they become democratic it may not be what is in store for them, We fought for our freedom from England and created the democracy we now live under, in the middle east there is thousands and thousands of years of history there and nowhere even in the Bible do you hear mention of a democracy. They will need to decide for themselves what they want to have and not what we help to create. We got Saddam out and that should have been it we should have allowed them to settle what government they wanted and then dealt with that government, not force our way of life on them. Long as we are there I see no peace for them/

Place the blame on the Democrats for everything wrong with this Country. Now watch them make an even bigger mess of Iraq. Bring disgrace on America and get even more men and women killed.

It actually makes u wonder if the people were better off b4 the intervention of USA (in terms of death toll). I just hope they can turn all this around and build a country that is able to support its inhabitants without outside input.
