Rule of thumb for any fish is one fish per gallon.
I think this link below will help you a great deal...Sounds like you are new to fish care. Good Luck. LL.

1 inch of fish per gallon of water is the old tried and true rule. As in one 1 inch long fish per gallon. No heater for goldfish. If you put more than that you are gonna have an amonia problem. Goldfish excrete a lot of amonia. You will need to change the water every day if you put more than 2 small ones in. 6 goldfish are way way too many for a one gallon tank. Pick up a book about goldfish or check one out at your school library. Always study about how to care for a pet before you get the pet. I studied myself silly when i was in 3rd and 4th grade about fish and hamsters and parakeets before i ever got any of them and i had great success with all 3.

Never feed fish more than once per day. And only as much as they will eat within 5 or ten minutes. More than that and yiou are going right back to amonia and so on from food decaying. As a rule about 4 or 5 small flakes per 2 inch fish. Of course small is relative so it is hard to explain. Feed a lot less than you would think they would eat. Get your pet shop to SHOW you.

Be sure you have some stuff to get the chlorine out of the water before you put them in. You can also use a clean water bottle ( gallon sized or so in which water came out of ---NEVER USE SOAP ON ANYTHING YOU USE FOR YOUR FISH! -----and leave it sitting witout a lid for 24 hours them pop the lid on so it doesnt evaporate and you can change the water that way. This keeps the water the same temp they are used to and gets the chlorine out without using an additive. I wish you well. Go get those books.

Zero can fit in a 1 gallon tank, they need a minimum of 10 gallons each when little. Normal room temp is fine, anywhere from 68-74. I feed mine twice a day, as much as they can eat in 2 minutes.

That rule of thumb only applies to slim bodied small fish, like guppies and it's there adult size anyway. Even if you want to use that rule for goldfish they can grow 8-12 inches so you would still need 10 gallons.

The rule is one inch per gallon, Your not going to keep any goldfish well in one gallon of water. The reason being your gold fish will be swimming in real high ammonia within just a few days. One gallon tanks are ok for fish like bettas.

First you hold it down on the plate using two tines from a silver fish fork, held in your left hand. Next, using a silver fish knife, held in the right hand, you delicately carve off a few slices and set them aside on the plate. Use these slices before you proceed to slice more.

OH!... you said CARING for! I thought you said CARVING OF...
My bad!

I don't know about all that other stuff, but we always got a small catfish to put in the tank with it. The catfish eats the slime and cuts down on the number of times you have to clean the tank!
