Just be her friend...you can't promise her that her dad will come home safely...no one can. But you can be there to support her and listen when she wants to talk and just be normal and real. More than anything else she probably just wants things to feel normal and safe at home....help her have that.

Do not tell her that her Dad is coming home for that I wouldn't believe, your not God. You want her to trust what you say to her, right? This is a hard one to answer. What can u say? Does she watch the news? Don't let her as much as possible, get her out to have some fun somewhere she likes or something, keep her mind busy. Give her a shoulder to cry on but do not take advantage of her, which i don't think u would. Some day u 2 might end up real close.

Hm, properly, you're doing solid with a Webkinz and candy. What you're able to do is probably put in an stunning selfmade card, some extra filled animals, perhaps a pair of rings, flora perhaps, and in step with risk accompanied by way of some extra small products you be conscious of she could like.

Well, act yourself but get closer by letting her know he's doing a good thing and let her know that he loves her very much. Also with her, put together packages to sent to her dad with survival needs as in water bottles, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, things like that. And then, if you have a relative that you had go away to war, tell her about him/her and let her know you understand.

Just follow her lead and be supportive.
Don't keep talking about her dad and/or Iraq. If she's down, it could be for any number of reasons, and you'll get her upset if you keep harping on her dad.
Be happy when she's happy.. and just listen when she's not.

WELL I HAVE SOMEONE WHO WENT TO IRAQ AND MY BEST GUY FRIEND JUST KEPT TELLING ME THAT EVERYTHING WAS GONNA BE OK. AND IT TURNED OUT THAT MY CLOSE RELATIVE WAS JUST PERFECTLY FINE. BUT HE WOULD ALWAYS CUDDLE, HUG,KISS ME ON THE CHEEK, AND MAKE ME LAUGH JUST LIKE MY RELATIVE DID. SO WHY DON'T YOU TRY TO ACT LIKE HER FATHER.
