For those of you who may not have been to this site I highly encourage it:

http://www.godmademegay.com

I especially encourage all you Homophobes, would-be Bashers, Narrow-Minded Conservatives, Neo-Christians and Uneducated Morons to read ... "Letter To Louise"!

It's highly insightful and well worth the read. If you don’t begin to re-think your bigoted ways ... then there’s something fundamentally wrong with you!!!!

I'm sorry if the tone of my letter is offensive to some of you. However in retrospect, don't you think this continued discrimination against the gay community is offensive as well? It's time this bigotry stops and that the community at large starts giving every human being equal considerations & rights under the law. It’s very easy for those of you who enjoy all your rights to sit in judgment, you've never been denied!!!!

To 'PREACHER'S WIFE': Until you're able to conceptualize anything beyond the narrow minded point of view which you've been taught ... then you're right, we do have nothing to talk about!!! I guess since I became “ungodly”, I forgot what it was to be Christian and ignorantly sit in glee of my judgment on others.

P.S. In recent years, medical advancements have made it possible for to woman to genetically conceive a child! Want some water to wash that foot down with or are ya gonna listen now? lol

While I find the tone and content of your conclusion ("If you don't begin to re-think your bigoted ways....") reprehensible and unhelpful, I thank you for sharing this.

I particularly love this quote from it:

"There is an interesting note from church history. [Noted church historian] John Boswell... has discovered that, whereas the church did not declare heterosexual marriage to be a sacrament until 1215 C.E., one of the Vatican Library's earliest Greek liturgical documents is a marriage ceremony for two persons of the same sex. The document dates to the fourth century, if not earlier. In other words, nine centuries before heterosexual marriage was declared a sacrament, the church liturgically celebrated same-sex covenants

Very thought-provoking. Thanks for that link.

(I wonder if Pope Benny knows of that particular document?)

EDIT: No no no pinkpussy.... you made a typo. It's this:

Just because someone do not accept your way of thinking does that make them wrong? Religious and religiosity are deeply rooted beliefs and cannot be changed every time any new idea or concept is introduced. It takes time for new ideas to be woven into the fabric of any religion otherwise the whole world would be as one by now. Relax and let it mix slowly. if you pour flour into boiling water suddenly it will be all lumpy and nasty but if poured slowly you will have the smoothest paste ever. God bless.

Personally, I can see a few flaws in the minister's logic. These flaws are found in the applications of scripture and basic Christian teachings, in basic suppositions about ancient cultures, and in the applications of "modern" psychology towards Christian teachings.

Probably the biggest flaw I found was in this assumptive logical arguement. I must paraphrase, as I can't quote from the letter.

"If the heterosexual person can say "God made me this way", then so too can the homosexual person say "God made me this way. If, then God made us all with our individual feelings and orientations, then these feelings, orientations, and actions cannot be sinful. Homosexuality is therefore not sinful."

This arguement is based on an incorrect assumption: that God makes us with our Sin natures, a pre-wrapped package. God no longer creates human beings! Sin was introduced into the world against the will of God, through the temptation of the Enemy, and accepted by our original Parents (Adam and Eve). It has been passed down through all successive generations. There is, therefore, something AGAINST God's will within all of us. God did NOT make me "just as I am". If He had, there would be NO NEED for any redemption.

If I can say that all of my feelings (except those based on traumatic events) are not sinful "because I cannot help it", then what shall we say to people who have no consience? Is it therefore "not sin" for them to kill and maim others, since they "can't help their feelings"? How about kleptomaniacs? Kleptomania is also not mentioned in the Bible; does that excuse a Kleptomaniac from the "thou shalt not steal" commandment? Nymphomania (and its male counterpart) are not recognized in the Bible as concepts. Perhaps nymphomaniacs and male sex maniacs are now excused for committing adultery and fornication? After all, THEY can't help their feelings, either!

God's word is not based on how we feel. That is the point. God's idea of righteous action is so far above all of us, that NONE of us can ever measure up. We are ALL going to hell, unless we trust in Christ to save us. God in His grace provides a way out of our genetic damnation, whether we are ****/hetero/non-sexuals, or kleptomaniacs, or sociopaths, or just plain religious bigots. Squeaky-clean church people need Jesus the same as any dirty drug addict, sometimes more! Self righteousness can be a worse chain than a needle.

The call to follow Christ is absolute. Nothing can be held back from God. He wants all of us, especially the parts we think we like. It doesn't matter if it is what you study, how you bake, how you dress, your ideas of "right" and "wrong", where you live, who/what you think is sexy, even how you love other people. God wants all of us.

Nothing less will do.

It's so sad, isn't it? I could hardly bear to read the examples in the letter. More of man's inhumanity to man, in the name of One who loves all His children.

You are right about the narrow-minded, uneducated bigots. I guess learning something is too much of a burden for them. What amazes me is that they are so willing to display their stupidity for all the world to see.
We should pray for them.

The title "About the Author "should tell you all you need to know. He got he's education from and cometary(yes you read that right) A bunch of dead people (Spiritually) trying to teach the Word of God. God says sin in sin. God created male and female and told them to be fruitful and multiply. When someone tells me that two males or two females have joined and had a baby the way God intended then I will listen. Until then we have nothing to talk about
